Shirley Marlene Crowther

Shirley M Crowther, age 80, of Burkeville, VA passed away September 15, 2016. She is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Robert E Crowther.
Shirley worked at Hampden Sydney College with Aramark Corporation for many many years and was affectionately known as the “ Omelet Lady” by the students she served. With no children of her own, Shirley was mother and friend to many she met, especially her animals. She was a long time member of Bagby Memorial Baptist Church.
She is survived by Randy Cook and family, who accepted her and Bob into their family as their own, her dachshund, “Lil Bit”, and several half-brother and sisters across the nation.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 3:00PM at Bagby Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery with a celebration of Shirley’s life to follow in the fellowship hall. As Shirley would say… “Any ole how”.
