Anna Ruth Lane

Anna Ruth Lane of Farmville, VA passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013. She was born in Spartanburg, SC on November 9, 1926, daughter of George W. and Ruth Roberts. She was raised in Knoxville, TN. Mrs. Lane attended Nursing School at the University of Tennessee and was a nurse at Southside Community Hospital. She later worked at the Longwood University Library. She was an active member of the Farmville United Methodist Church. For many years she was also active in the Weyanoke Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Lane Sr., to whom she was married for 59 years. She is survived by her children, Charles F. Lane Jr., and wife Denise of Glen Allen, VA, Robert R. Lane of Myrtle Beach, SC and Vicki Lane Fulcher and husband, Rick of Farmville, VA. She was also the proud grandmother to six grandchildren and one great grandchild. A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 4:00pm at the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home. Interment was in Westview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Farmville United Methodist Church or to the Prince Edward County Volunteer Rescue Squad.
