Benton Blake Ward

Benton Blake Ward, 77 of Prince George, VA passed away on January 27, 2019. He was born on January 26, 1942 to the late Clarence and Gertrude Rife Ward. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1961-1965, and was a long-time supervisor of the motor pool at Defense General Supply Center until his retirement in 1997. He was an avid fisherman and stock car racing fan. He is survived by his wife Maria C. Ward; stepdaughters Monica Allen (Michael) and Vicki Humphreys (Seth); a brother, Clarence Ward; sisters, Joyce Franklin and Syreda Murphy; grandchildren Alexa Rimmer, Veronica Humphreys, and Sommer Allen; a close nephew, Steve Ward (Patricia); many other nieces and nephews, and other extended family.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, Feb 8, 2019 at 2:00pm at Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia.
Because of his affection for animals, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Prince George Animal Shelter, 8391 County Dr, Disputanta, VA 23842.
