Bertha Mae Doss Edwards

Bertha Mae Doss Edwards went home to be with the Lord on October 25, 2009. She was born on June 4, 1922 the daughter of the late John Richard and Lelia Virginia Doss. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Wilson Edwards, a son Donald Wilson Edwards and two brothers, Robert Mahoney and William Austin Doss. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara and husband Steve of Amelia; Diane and husband Harold of Powhatan; 5 grandchildren, Dawn and husband Jorge of Woodbridge, VA; Chris of Hampton, VA; Amber of Amelia; Will and wife Tammy of Amelia; Ashlie and husband Donnie of Powhatan and 4 great-grandchildren. Mae is also survived by her best friend and beloved sister, Lelia Christine Doss Martin of Farmville, and a brother John Richard Doss, Jr. and wife Ruth of Galatin, Tennessee , sisters-in-laws, Margaret Rice of Farmville and Blanch Mahoney of Hopewell; and many loving nieces and nephews. Also surviving, very dear friends, Ann Barksdale and Mary Snoddy of Farmville and Barbara Fletcher of Richmond, VA.
She was retired from Craddock Terry Shoe Corp and a faithful member of the Farmville Church of Christ for many years.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2009 2:00PM at Farmville Church of Christ with interment in Trinity Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening 6:00 8:00PM at the Puckett Funeral Home.
