Bettie Taylor Brightwell

Bettie Taylor Brightwell 75 of Farmville, VA passed away on December 29, 2017.
She was born on July 13, 1942 to the late Robert E. and Helen Hurt Taylor.
She was in the first graduating class of Prince Edward Academy.
Her hobbies were cake decorating, making wreaths and roller skating. She loved to eat ice cream and milk shakes and always loved to share. She was happily married to her husband of 57 years Collie D. Brightwell Jr. She worked for 26 years at Amelia Dress Factory and later retired from Prince Edward Elementary school as an instructional assistant.
She is survived by her husband, 1 daughter Lisa Carol Brightwell Cortazar(Robert), 4 grandchildren; Morgan, Katharine and Travis Schneider, Mahtaya Davis, a sister-in-law Jackie Taylor of Hampton, VA, a brother-in-law William McCraw of Pamplin, VA, a brother-in-law R.D. Brightwell (Lucy) of Farmville and a sister-in-law Phyllis B. Druen.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Taylor, sister Jean McCraw, brother-in-law Wilson Druen, and sister-in-law Jean B. Mason (Forest).
Family will receive friends on January 5, 2017 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM in Puckett Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held on January 6, 2017 11:00AM at Farmville Church of Christ.
