Betty Ann Christy

Betty Ann Christy, age 76 of Meherrin, VA passed away on August 30, 2017. She was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Elwood F and Laura Kennedy Gentzsch on February 26, 1941.
She was married to John Albert Christy and moved to Virginia to get out of the city hussel and bussel.
She was a faithful member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church and was their secretary. She love to cook for her family and church family and for everything to be tidy and neat. She loved being a homemaker and doing things for her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by a son Anthony Joseph Nicholas from Rice, VA, Debra Christy Pietrafesa from NJ, Lori Romana from Philadelphia, PA, Julie Diaz (Carl Watson) of Meherrin, VA, Tammy Cassada of Roanoke, VA, grandchildren; Briana Harris, Courtney Harris, Jordan Harris and 7 other grandchildren and 4 great grand children. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Lorraine Gentzsch.
Memorial contributions may be made to St Pauls Lutheran Church or St Judes Childrens Hospital.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 11:00AM in the St Pauls Lutheran Church. Family will receive friends from 10:00AM until time of service at church.
