Betty Daye Frank

Betty Daye Frank, 88, of Rice, Va. passed from this life on October 31, 2018, to be reunited with her beloved husband of nearly 67 years, John W. Frank,Sr. She was born in Appomattox County on October 3, 1930, the daughter of the late Carrie Harris Daye and Andrew Daye. Betty is preceded in death by one sister, Charlotte D. Moore and four brothers: Kenneth, William, Ray and Rex Daye.
Betty was a 1948 graduate of Farmville High School and of the Mayfair Beauty College in Lynchburg, Va. She operated a hair salon for a number of years and gave it up to be a homemaker, caretaker of frail, aging in-laws and bookkeeper for the farm operation. Betty never met an art or craft that she couldn’t conquer with finesse. From basket weaving to oil painting to sewing, she had a flair for creating beautiful things.
She is survived by a daughter Janet Frank Stoner (Richard) and a son, John Weldon, Jr.; five grandchildren: Elizabeth Stoner Smullen (Clint), Jonathan Frank, Christina Frank Velez (Christopher), Daniel Frank and Carrie Frank; 2 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Pauline Frank and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services are to be held at Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 3 p.m. Family will receive friends from 1:30 - 3pm in the Pisgah Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
