Betty Howell Tarpley

Betty Howell Tarpley 88 of Waynesboro, VA, formerly of Farmville, VA., passed away on June 25, 2017. She was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Brewster and Mary Collins Howell on November 12, 1928.
She was married to Lewis W. Tarpley for 58 years and together they raised 2 children.
Her faith was important to her and she was known as a “Godly Woman” who showed her faith to others. She taught Sunday school for 25 years and family came first only after her devotion to God. She was a good cook who was known especially for her deserts and candies. She will be missed by many friends and her church family and dearly loved by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother
Daniel B. Howell.
She is survived by her children Russell H. Tarpley (Crystal) of Lawrenceville, GA, Peggy L. Tarpley of Waynesboro, VA a sister Mary H. Reynolds of Jacksonville, FL 4 grandchildren; Adam Reeve, Amanda Hodgson, Courtney Tarpley, Connor Tarpley 4 great grandchildren; Jackson Reeve, Lily Reeve, Gavin Hodgson and Samuel Hodgson.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 2:00PM in Piedmont Church of Christ, Farmville, VA. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM in Puckett Funeral Home. Interment will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 3:00PM in College Park Cemetery, College Park, GA.
