Billy Cecil Slayton

Mr. Billy Cecil Slayton, 79 of Farmville passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012 in Farmville. He was born December 21, 1932 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia to the late J. Leonard and Annie Mae Aaron Slayton. Mr. Slayton loved farming and owning his own business, Slayton Well Drilling. He was a member and elder of Douglas Presbyterian Church and was a regular at Granny B’s Store. Billy was loved by many people and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his aunt and uncle who raised Billy, Henry and Maryann Slaydon (Mama and Papa) and his stepmother, Odell Slayton. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce C. Slayton, his sons, Bradley Slayton and his wife, Ann and Bryon Slayton all of Farmville, his daughter, Pam Slayton Jones and her husband, Jeff of Grove City, PA, his half brother, Carl Slayton and his wife, Jane of Hilton Head, SC, half sister, Peggy Owens and husband, George of Chesapeake, VA and Lois S. McConnell of Roanoke, VA; his grandchildren, Amanda Slayton, Matthew Jones and Christiana Jones and numerous nieces and nephews
