Bobby 'Bob' Keeler Whitley

Mr. Bobby “Bob” Keeler Whitley, 80 of Goodview, VA passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012 in Roanoke. He was born March 17, 1932 in Stanly, North Carolina to the late Luther “Dick” Whitley and Elizabeth “Liz” Clark Whitley. He served his country in the United States Army. He then went on to work as a supervisor for Bethlehem Steel Company in Maryland where he later retired. Bob was a member of the Sparrow Point Country Club as well as the Moose Lodge. He is survived by his children, Tommy Gene Whitley, Danny Lee Whitley (Deborah), David Russell Whitley all of Eden, NC and Julia Diane Austin of Buckingham; his brothers, Carl Whitley of Calvert Co., MD and Berry Whitley of Charlotte, NC, his sister, Faye Bumgarner of Delaware, five grandchildren, David Russell and Robert Brian Barnes, Michelle Dawn Craig, Elizabeth Carol Whitley and Michael Whitley, three great grandchildren, Eric and Emma Craig and Nicholas Whitley, 23 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends in North Carolina, Maryland and Virginia. A funeral service will be held Monday, April 2, 2012 1:30pm at Maysville Presbyterian Church in Buckingham Court House, VA with interment to be held later in Stanley, NC. Family will receive friends on Monday, April 2, 2012 at 1:00pm at the church. Bob is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
