Campbell L. 'Peewee' Overton

Campbell Lafayette “Pee Wee” Overton, 83 of Farmville, VA passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014. He was born in Farmville, VA to the late James Watson and Grace Thompson Overton on December 23, 1930. He worked at the Farmville Herald News paper for 60 years. His work was his hobby where he made friends for life. He worked the printing press and laid out the paper. He is survived by his wife; Shirley Brooks Overton, his daughter; Grace Helms (Jim) of Richmond, VA, two grandchildren; Brooks Toombs (Trey) and James Helms, two brothers; Quinton Overton (Ann), Wyatt Lee Overton (Linda) sisters in law; Mary Overton and Carolyn Overton. He was preceded in death by his brothers; Otto Overton (Mary), “Baldy” Overton (Carolyn), Clainey Meyers and two sisters; Grace Ree Tuttle and Breettie Jenkins. He loved all of his nieces and nephews especially the ones that lived on “the hill” Henry (like a brother to Grace),Frankie, Sally and Sherry. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 96011, Washington DC 20090. A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 2:00PM at Westview Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service at 1:00PM at Puckett Funeral Home. Puckett Funeral Home is serving the family.
