Charles Franklin Lane, Sr.

Charles Franlin Lane, Sr., 91 of Farmville passed away Friday in Lynchburg, VA He was a professor of geology at Longwood College for over 35 years. He served as president of the VA Geographical Society, editor of the VA Journal of Science, and chairman of the VA Resource Use Council. He was an active member of his church and the Farmville Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Ruth Lane, 3 children and 6 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2011 2:00pm at Farmville United Methodist Church with interment in Westview Cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday evening 6:00-8:00pm at the Puckett Funeral Home.
