Coceile Butt Dunlap

February 10, 1925 — March 1, 2012

Coceile Butt Dunlap, 87, of Farmville, VA departed this life entering into eternal rest, March 1, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband William Henry Dunlap, Jr. “Jack”, and her son Kevin Frederick Dunlap. She was the daughter of the late W. Fred Butt and Callie Victoria Parson Butt from Yards, VA. Those left to cherish her memory are her son; Derrick Lynn Dunlap, “Rick”, and his wife, Jody, of Richmond, VA; daughter-in-law, Jackie Dunlap Shaw and her husband Bob, of Hadensville, VA, grandchildren, William Ryan Dunlap of Redondo Beach, CA, Megan Dunlap Stacy of Midlothian, VA and Tyler F. Dunlap of Richmond, VA; also, five great grandchildren and two nieces, Nancy Jo Butt Angstman and Carol Ann Butt Scott. After graduating from high school in Roanoke, VA, she worked for F.W. Woolworth and C&P Telephone Co. Coceile was a talented artist who taught art lessons privately to many young students. Her compassionate personality and interest in helping others led her to volunteer for the Farmville Library, Longwood Center for the Visual Arts and the Woman’s Club of Farmville. She was an active member of the Farmville Baptist Church since 1954 participating in many of the church’s activities, committees, and departments. Her love of history and passion for friendships led her to become a member of the Farmville Serendipity Club. The family will receive friends at Puckett Funeral Home, 115 Covington Court, Farmville, VA, on Sunday March 4, 2012 from 4:00 to 6:00PM. The funeral service will be held 11:00AM on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Farmville Baptist Church, 132 North Main Street, Farmville, VA 23901. Interment will be at Trinity Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Farmville Baptist Church or Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EE) Children in Need.
