David Louis Crabill of Farmville, VA, passed away during the night sometime between November 11 and 12, 2014. He had recently been in the hospital for a week for a heart condition, and it appears that his heart may have been the cause of his death. David was born April 4, 1961, in Alexandria, VA, and grew up in that vicinity until he left home to attend Longwood University in Farmville, from which he graduated in 1983. It was there that he acquired many life-long friends. After college he returned to Northern Virginia and worked as a service writer in the automotive industry. But eventually he fulfilled his dream of returning to Farmville in 1999 to enjoy the less hectic lifestyle afforded by a more rural setting. From 1999 until 2008 he worked in Richmond, VA. For the past six years he was self-employed selling items online. This allowed him to spend more time with family and friends and enjoy life to the fullest extent. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved music. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Crabill and his Uncle David Hudson. Survivers include his mother, Patricia L. (Hudson) Crabill of Palm Coast, FL; his brothers Charles F. Crabill of Rice, VA; Joseph M. (Laura) Crabill of Franklin, TN, and their two children, Courtney Anne and Hudson Louis; his Uncle and Aunt, Roger and Jill Hudson; and his Aunt Gerda Hudson. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 23, at 3 p.m. at Pucketts Funeral Home in Farmville, VA. Family and friends are invited to gather an hour before the service at the funeral home to renew old friendships. For memorial contributions the family has asked that you make contributions to the American Heart Association 4217 Park Place Ct, Glen Allen, VA 23060 or to your favorite charity. Puckett Funeral Home is serving the family.
