Doris Samford Speas

Doris Samford Speas, 77, of Cumberland passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Berkley and Angela Pearson Samford, and her son, Mark Ellis.
She was survived by her beloved husband, David Speas, who joined her in glory on Friday, April 29, 2016. She is also survived by her daughter, Lajuana Ellis, of Cumberland; a sister, Mike Forbes (Claude Lee); grandchildren, Joseph Ellis, Tiffany Justis (Chris) and Michael Ellis; great grandchildren, Kellen, Kennadi and Ellie; stepchildren, Debbie Smith, Dyral Speas (Patty) and Judy Chambliss (Perry).
A shared memorial service with her “Doll” of 25 years, David Speas, will be held on May 7, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Jones Chapel Baptist Church, at 947 Trents Mill Road, Cumberland. Family will receive friends one hour before the service and refreshments will follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Cumberland Volunteer Rescue Squad.
