Her biggest passion was local history, she was active in both the Prospect Historical Society and the Farmville, Prince Edward historical society. Her knowledge of the rural history of the area was unsurpassed and she often shared stories about the “old days”.
She was a member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed trips to revisit her home place on the Eastern Shore and was active in her high school reunions. She was an avid reader and took up painting and art with the encouragement from Audrey Sullivan and the Red Door 104 Art Studio in Farmville.
