Elizabeth Audrey Bowles

Elizabeth Audrey Shorter Bowles age 82 of Farmville, VA passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at her home. “Liz” was a new years baby, born January 1, 1933 and was the daughter of the late Howard and Marguerite Shorter of Darlington Heights. She attended the Darlington Heights School, graduated from Worsham High School and also attended Longwood College.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christy Bowles Dowd.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ronald E. Bowles Jr. A brother, William H. Shorter Sr. (Becky) of Appomattox, sons, David L. Bowles (Lori) of Carpinteria, CA and Phillip C. Bowles of Hanover, VA. grandsons, M. Ryan Dowd (Yazzmine) of Holly Springs, NC; Dalton L. Bowles of Helena, Montana, granddaughters, Jessica C. Bowles of Newport News, Caitlynn M. Bowles of Hanover; and two great grandsons, Brayden Lee Bowles and Parker Finley Dowd. Also a host of nieces, nephews and other family members stretching from Mechanicsville, Five Forks, Appomattox up to Roanoke and beyond.
Liz is also survived by a number of special neighborhood friends.

Services are scheduled for Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 11:00AM at Spring Creek Baptist Church, Darlington Heights with interment to follow at the church cemetery.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Spring Creek Baptist Church and Darlington Heights Fire Department.
