Elizabeth Massey Bradner died on February 4, 2014 at Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem, VA. She was the daughter of the late Margaret H. Bradner and James William Bradner of Charlotte Court House, VA. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Bradner Ingram of Pawleys Island, SC; niece, Molly Ingram Aftoora and husband, Matthew Aftoora of Richmond, VA; niece, Margaret Ingram McConnell of Charleston, SC. She is also survived by great-niece, Mary Margaret McConnell of Charleston, SC; great-nephew, Joseph William Aftoora of Richmond, VA, and four first cousins. Elin Bradner was Elizabeth’s faithful canine companion for the past three years. Elizabeth was a graduate of Hollins University and worked for Revlon in New York prior to moving to Roanoke to work in the corporate offices at Sidney’s. Following Sidney’s, Elizabeth managed The Avenue clothing store for over twenty years. Elizabeth was fun-loving, a voracious reader who enjoyed music, and her family. A graveside service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, February 8th at Evergreen Cemetery in Charlotte Court House, VA at 1:00 PM. Following the service, a reception will be held at Sheldon’s Restaurant in Keysville, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in Elizabeth’s name to The Roanoke Valley SPCA at 1340 Baldwin Avenue, Roanoke, VA 24012.
