Gary M. Hamlin

Gary Hamlin was born to Wesley and Beatrice Hamlin on January 24, 1959 in the state of New York. Gary joined the U.S. Marine Corps right after his high school graduation. He proudly served in the Marine Corps for 13 years. After he got out of the service, Gary lived in Lakewood, Ohio and worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier until he retired early because of his military service-connected disability. He moved with his wife to Pamplin, VA a short 7 years ago since he fell in love with the South while he was in service. Gary passed away at the age of 65 on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 in a veteran’s facility from his illness.

Gary is survived by his wife, Anne M. Hardin and their combined children; Jennifer (Jim), Aaron (Laura), Jessica and Holly Rose. Also the granddaughters; Caitlin (Jake), McKenna and Allison. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; Wesley and Beatrice and brothers; Ron, Donnie & Richie.

Gary is survived by his siblings; Wesley, Landyce, Susan, Debbie, Marty and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 from 5:00PM – 7:00PM at Puckett Funeral Home. Gary’s burial will be Friday, March 22, 2024 at  12:00Noon at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery located at 10300 Pridesville Rd, Amelia Court House, VA 23002.
