Gene Hampton Combs

Gene Hampton Combs, age 77, passed away on January 8, 2016. He was born
on January 31, 1938, in Carroll County, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sterling and Lela Johnson Combs, and sister-in-law, Norma Jean Combs.
He loved to fish and hunt and spend time with his family, especially
his grandchildren. He was a long time member of Tar Wallet Baptist
Church.
He retired after working at Beaumont Juvenile Correctional Center for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy B. Combs, 2 daughters, Debbie C.
Bruce (Bill) of Cumberland, VA, Tammy C. Ingle (Kevin) of Cumberland,
VA, 2 brothers, Sidney Combs (Rose) of Salem, VA, Taylor Combs of
Cumberland, VA, 1 sister, Donna C. Sloan (Mike) of Cumberland, VA, 3
grandchildren, Lauren Whitlow (Michael), Tyler Ingle (fiancé
Casey), and Amber Bruce.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at
1:00PM in the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department (PO Box 97, Cumberland, VA 23040) or Cumberland Volunteer Rescue Squad (PO Box 171, Cumberland, VA 23040).
