Gerald C. Baxter

Gerald C. Baxter, 81 passed away on Friday, Nov. 25th 2016 in Farmville, VA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Helen Baxter and his brothers, Leroy and Dave.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, Eric Baxter of Colorado Springs, CO and Tammy Richardson of Lynwood, WA and their spouses Valerie and Richard; step children, Steve Solt, Scott Solt and Gwyn McFadden and husband Mark all residing in VA and his seven grandchildren.

Jerry was born in Colville, WA. May 6th 1935. He attended schools in Spokane, WA. He was a 4yr veteran of the Marine Corp. and then was accepted into the State Patrol in WA. state. He ended his 28 ½ year career as Captain and the last 5 years was spent as the head of security for 2 Governor’s. He was offered a job as Medical Examiner in Las Vegas, NV where he and Sharon lived and had fun for 2 yrs. They left the desert to return to WA for another job that was with the Military Dept. at Camp Murray, WA. In 2000 he and Sharon moved to Virginia and are still working on restoring a home that was built in 1759.

A memorial service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Farmville, VA on Saturday, Dec.3rd 2:00pm. Puckett Funeral Home is serving the family. www.puckettfh.com.
