Gracie Franklin Giles

Mrs. Gracie Franklin Giles, 86 of Rice passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012 at her residence. She was born February 13, 1926 in Tennessee to the late Eschol and Villard Gentry Franklin. Gracie was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. She loved her church and tending to her flower gardens. She is survived by her husband, Edward M. Giles, Jr., her children, Jerry Giles (Jo Ann) of Prospect, Glen Giles (Sherry) of Rice, Theresa Thompson (Dale) of Farmville and Rickey Giles (Sharon) also of Farmville; her 3 brothers, Dennis Franklin of Wilmington, NC, J.D. Franklin of Dale City, VA and Grady Franklin of Laplata, MD, her 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 4 siblings. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 24, 2012 11:00AM at the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home with interment to follow in Trinity Memorial Gardens in Rice. Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 23, 2012 6:00-8:00pm at the Puckett Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Church of God, 1816 East Third Street, Farmville, VA 23901.
