Mr. Howard R. “Rusty” Arthur, Jr., 50 of Capron, VA went to be with his Lord after a brief illness on Friday, April 13, 2012. He was born June 28, 1961 in Barstow, California. He was the son of Howard R. Arthur, Sr. and Nancy L. Arthur of Farmville. Rusty was a graduate of Prince Edward County High School and loved fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Driver Hunting Club. Rusty also loved watching NASCAR and was a big fan. Rusty worked at the Department of Corrections for 30 years and was Captain at Deerfield Correctional Center. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Arthur, two daughters, Nicole Arthur and Anna Arthur; two sons, Michael Arthur and Steven Arthur, his sister, Kristi Frank and her husband, Bill Frank, Jr. of Richmond, VA, his grandmother, Ola B. Arthur and five nieces and nephews, George, Elaina, Anthony, Trisha and Joseph. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 2:00pm at New Life Assembly of God in Farmville with interment to follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 7:00-9:00pm at Puckett Funeral Home in Farmville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rusty Arthur, Jr. Scholarship Fund, c/o Virginia Credit Union.
