Mrs. Iva Lou Baker, 84 of Prospect passed away Thursday at her residence. She was born February 15, 1927 in Tennessee. She was a daughter of the late Albert and Cellie Lynn. She was the wife of James Douglas Baker, Sr. They were married for over 67 years. They moved to Virginia in 1985 from Michigan. As a homemaker, she cared for her husband and all her children very much. Mrs. Baker loved people, sewing, flower gardens and crocheting. She had a deep love for her church and her church family.
She is survived by her husband, her children, James D. Baker, Jr. (JoAnn) of Casco, Michigan, John Albert Baker (Carol) of Midland, Michigan and Sharon Elaine Spangenberg (Roger) of Prospect, VA; her seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her eleven brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 1:00pm at the Prospect Gospel Tabernacle with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Farmville Church of Christ.
