James Marvin Arrington

June 5, 1923 — January 5, 2010

James Marvin Arrington, 86, of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Charlotte Marston Arrington for 64 years. He was born June 5, 1923, in Charlotte County, the son of the late Samuel Cole Arrington and Addie Clifton Arrington. He was a retired insurance executive.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Judy Arrington Capel and husband, Randy and James Coleman Arrington and wife, Pamela; daugther-in-law, Virginia Arrington Southern; two sisters, Ruby Arrington Dickerson and husband, Robert of Richmond, and Jean Arrington Paulette and husband, Millard of Lynchburg; seven grandchildren, Christopher Arrington, Kimberly Arrington Johnson and husband, Bradley, Julie Elizabeth Catlin and husband, Jeremy, James C. Arrington II and wife, Amanda, Grady Capel and wife, Maureen, Timothy Arrington and wife, Leanne, and Rebecca Anne Capel; and five great-grandchildren, Cole and Rylee Arrington, Blake Catlin, Grant Capel, and Katie Johnson.
He was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Grey Arrington and two brothers, Murray Arrington and Thurman R. Arrington.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Heritage Baptist Church, Farmville, with the Rev. James D. Newman presiding, with the Rev. Roger Roller assisting. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will continue at Trinity Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Rice.
