James Oscar Parker

Mr. James Oscar Parker, 93 of Farmville passed away Tuesday morning in Farmville. He was born February 24, 1915 in Conway, North Carolina. He was the son of the late James Marcus and Agnes Flythe Parker. Mr. Parker was the husband of Helen Y. Parker. He was the territory manager for Allis-Chalmers Manufacturing Company in Virginia and parts of North Carolina for 35 years. He was a long time member of the Rotary Club; he was a member of the Farmville Masonic Lodge and he was a very active member of Farmville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Y. Parker, his daughters, Jane Parker Fitzhugh and husband Berryman Jennings Fitzhugh, Jr. and Agnes (Tootie) Parker Flythe and husband Edwin Earnhardt Flythe, Jr. all of Raleigh, North Carolina; his grandchildren, Edwin Earnhardt Flythe III, Todd Parker Flythe, Berryman Jennings Fitzhugh III and James Christian Fitzhugh and his great grandson, Berryman Jennings Fitzhugh IV. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ivan Parker.
A memorial service will be held Friday, December 26, 2008 11:00AM at Farmville United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the Farmville United Methodist Church or to the American Cancer Society. Puckett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
