James William (Egg) Eggleston

Mr. James William (Egg) Eggleston, 73 of Farmville passed away Monday morning at his residence. He was born October 2, 1937 in Rice, Virginia. He was the son of the late George and Annie Carmichael Eggleston. He was a charter member of the Prince Edward County Rescue Squad. Egg was a used car dealer and loved collecting antique cars and going to car shows. He also loved his farms and all the animals. Mr. Eggleston was a rental landlord for many years. Egg loved spending time in Daytona Beach, Florida.
He is survived by his daughter, Joyce Paige Eggleston of Farmville, his brother, Reggie Eggleston of Prospect, sister, Ruby Barton of Amelia. Aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and special nieces, Maria and Alexandra Dickinson both of Powhatan. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Eggleston.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 21, 2010, 3:00PM at the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 1:00-3:00PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Prince Edward County Rescue Squad or to Fuqua School. The family would like to invite everyone to the Gee Price Center at Fuqua School for light refreshments after the service at 4:00PM.
