Janet Kelsey Vaughan, age 96, of Farmville passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012 after a brief illness. She was born in Cumberland County on February 8, 1916 to the late Harrison Morton and Lillian Budd Kelsey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Wallace Vaughan. In addition, she was predeceased by her twin sister, Margaret K. Goin, of Farmville; a sister, Ella K. Montgomery, of Buchanan; and a brother, George B. Kelsey, of Appomattox. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Vaughan, of Farmville. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Annie Belle Agee, of Manakin-Sabot, brother-in-law and wife, Jimmy and Lucille Vaughan, of Lynchburg, and many caring and loving nieces and nephews including George Goin and wife Claudia of Scottsville, Sam Goin and wife Rozalyn of Dillwyn, Mary Bryant of Buchanan, Paxton Montgomery and wife Gwen of Eagle Rock, Charles Montgomery of Buchanan, Betty May and husband Kenneth of Buchanan, Doris Doss and husband Roddy of Winter Haven, FL, Margaret Janet Nathe and husband Jim of Waynesboro, Grace Alexander and husband Walter of Buchanan, and Sara Britt and husband Donald of Eagle Rock. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the Farmville United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends after the service in the church social hall.
