John Robert Greer

John Robert Greer, of Cumberland, passed peacefully in his sleep at home on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at the age of 74.

John was born February 4, 1951 in Tulare, California. After graduating from Cumberland High School, John was drafted by the Army and served his country with dedication. Upon his discharge from the military, he began a career with the Department of Corrections. In his final years, John volunteered as a medical transport driver.

John was married to Lucy Blackwell on March 24, 1984, sharing over 40 wonderful years with her. John loved fishing, spending time with family, traveling and lovingly aggravating his wife. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren.

John is survived by his wife, Lucy; his daughter, Johann; son, Michael (Cheyenne); his grandchildren, Remington and Berkley. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Lee of Phoenix, Arizona, whom he discovered through a DNA service.
