John Weldon Frank Sr.

John Weldon Frank, Sr., peacefully departed this world on June 13, 2017. Born on November 16, 1927, in Rice, Virginia, to Walter Edward and Edna Barden Frank, John lived his entire life on the family farm. Possessing the requisite patience, natural instincts for agricultural decisions and a tireless dedication to his cows and land, John was a successful dairy farmer for over 70 years and loved every year, if not every minute, of it. John is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William (Buster). He leaves behind a loving family, including his wife of almost 67 years, Betty Daye Frank; a daughter Janet Frank Stoner (Richard) and a son, John Weldon, Jr.; five grandchildren: Elizabeth Stoner Smullen (Clint), Jonathan Frank, Christine Frank Velez (Christopher), Daniel Frank and Carrie Frank; one great grandchild; his sister-in-law of 72 years, Pauline Frank and two nephews, Robert and Steve Frank; and long-time family friend, Sarah Byrd; plus, numerous other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday, June 17 at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a favorite charity. Casual attire is appropriate.
