Mr. Johnny Roosevelt Black, 78 of Cumberland passed away Friday, December 30, 2011 in Richmond. He was born February 11, 1933 in Candler, North Carolina to the late Nathan Jerome and Leona Pike Black. Mr. Black served his country in the United States Army. He worked as a carpenter. He is survived by his sister, Celia Johnson of Richmond, VA and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 5, 2012 1:00pm at Virginia Veteran’s Cemetery in Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Road, Amelia, VA 23002. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, 1120 G Street NW, Suite 700 Washington, DC 20005.
