Joyce Thompson Dunkum

DUNKUM, Joyce Thompson, 84, of Burkeville, Va. went to be with her Lord on November 19, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband Julian H. Dunkum and sister Mavis T. Baldwin and is survived by her beloved niece Robin A. Baldwin and cherished friend Gloria Dooley. The family is grateful for the compassionate and expert care given to Joyce in her final hours by the staff of MCV’s Neurocritical Care Division in Richmond, Va. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, November 24 at 12:00 p.m. at Puckett Funeral Home, 115 Covington Court, Farmville VA with funeral service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. and burial at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Burkeville, Va. Joyce was known for her servant’s heart and to honor her generous spirit, the family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to either Bagby Memorial Baptist Church in Burkeville, Va. or the Burkeville Volunteer Fire Department.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 1:00PM in the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service starting at noon. Interment to follow in Sunset Cemetery, Burkeville, VA.
