Leslie Davis Phaup, Sr.

Mr. Leslie Davis Phaup, Sr., 89 of Farmville passed away Tuesday evening in Farmville. He was born July 18, 1921 in Buckingham County. He was a son of the late John James and Marietta LeSueur Phaup. He served his country during WWII in the United States Army. Mr. Phaup worked as a farmer. He also was a Deacon and a leader at Concord Baptist Church where he was one of the oldest members of the church. He loved his community and his many friends. He was the widower of Mable Wilkerson Phaup.
He is survived by his son, L.D. Phaup, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Farmville, his grandchildren, L. Davis Phaup, III and wife Christine of Montpelier and Amanda S. Phaup of Mechanicsville; his great grandchildren, Hayley and Evan Phaup and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his brothers, Moses, Vaden, Hazel, Crosby, Earl and Andrew Phaup and his sister, Virginia Phaup Stinson Cooper.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 21, 2010 11:00AM at Concord Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends Friday, August 20, 2010 6:00-8:00PM at the Puckett Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the FOCUS Center Building at Concord Baptist Church, 6117 Deer Run Road, Farmville, VA 23901.
