Lester Eugene Huskey

Lester Eugene Huskey, age 77, passed away at home in Buckingham County on Monday, January 13, 2025. He was born May 18, 1947 in Farmville, Virginia to the late Gene and Ellen Huskey. Lester is survived by his wife of 49 years, Pamela Morgan Huskey and his son, Stephen Gene Huskey (Carina Stocker). He is also survived by his brother, Melvin Huskey (Shirley).

Lester graduated from Prince Edward Academy. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served two tours of duty in Vietnam. Lester followed in his dad’s footsteps as a tradesman. He was the sole owner and operator of Huskey Heating & A/C.

Lester enjoyed sports of all kinds. In his younger days, he coached a team in the Senior Division of the Farmville Basketball Youth League. He also played slow pitch softball for several seasons. Through the years, Lester and family attended professional and college baseball, basketball, and football games, as well as various motor sports, and even a couple of golf tournaments.

During his retirement, Lester enjoyed working outdoors around his home in Buckingham. In the spring, he planted a huge garden and looked forward to the first homegrown tomato. He was busy outside throughout the summer and fall. Lester particularly enjoyed decorating the house and yard at Christmas.

Family visitation will be Friday, January 17 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Dillwyn, Virginia.
