Mable Healy Shanaberger

Mable Healy Shanaberger, 75 of Farmville, VA passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. She was born in Middlesex County, VA to the late Amos W. and Margaret Moore Healy on September 12, 1939. She met her husband Frank Shanaberger on a blind date while she was attending Longwood College. They have been married for 53 years. She taught school and worked in the office of the Prince Edward Treasurer for 31 years and was active Treasurer for 21 of those years. She was a charter member of Heritage Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and was a deacon. Also she was a member and past president of the Rotary Club; a member of the Board of Directors for Piedmont ASAP, member of The Women’s Club of Farmville, Farmville Rebekah Lodge and the Treasurers’ Association of Virginia. Her favorite things to do were gardening, reading and word search puzzles. She is survived by her husband, Frank; her daughters, Deborah Oliver (John) of Gates N.C. and Diane Wiesner of Powhatan, her son, Frank Wayne Shanaberger (Malinda) of Amelia, VA. her grandchildren; Winston “Jamie” Wiesner III, Jack Owens, Tyler Gyoker, Autumn Wiesner and Grady Owens, her sister Jean Marshall (Albert), brother, Amos Healy Jr. (Jane) and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 11:00AM in Heritage Baptist Church with interment to follow at Westview Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Puckett Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Heritage Baptist Church.
