Maebelle Bowles Cook

Maebelle Bowles Cook, 90, of Farmville, passed away July 21, 2015. Born on January 26, 1925 to Lillian Chewning Meadows and Wheeler S. Meadows, she was one of fifteen children. She is preceded in death by her parents. She was widowed by her husband Samuel Bowles, Sr. in 1966. She was also the widow of Arlon Cook and is preceded in death by her son, Samuel (Sam) Bowles, Jr. She is survived by her son, Lawrence Allen Bowles and his wife, Juanita, their daughters, Laura Reynolds (husband Mark), Loretta Mabry, and Teresa Reynolds (husband Bryan). Other survivors include two other grandchildren, Sam Bowles III and Margaret Bowles; seven great granddaughters, Molly Mabry, Sara Reynolds, Juanita Reynolds, Julia Reynolds, Carrie Mabry, Hannah Reynolds and Rachel Reynolds; and, her siblings, Francis Keller of California, Connie Scott of Florida, Don Meadows of North Carolina, Tommy Meadows of Maryland, and Hedy Maness of Lynchburg, VA. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 pm on Sunday, July 26th at the Puckett Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held at 4pm that same day with interment at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
