Melvin Wren Jenkins Jr.

Melvin “Wren” Jenkins, Jr., 70 of Burkeville, VA, passed away on May 3, 2021. He was born on May 12, 1950 to the late Melvin and Martha Jenkins, Sr. He was married for over 50 years to Edith Daniel Jenkins. He was retired from Luck Stone where he had worked for over 38 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his beloved nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by two sisters-in-law, Doris Mae Daniel and Naomi Groce. He is survived by his wife, Edith, brother, Bruce Jenkins, five sisters-in-law, Margaret Foster (Donald), Ellen Lacks (John), Ruth Price (Marvin), Joyce Newcomb (Bill), and Connie Gregory (Ron), four brothers-in-law, James “Joe” Daniel (Teresa), Clarence Daniel (Ann), Terry Daniel (Janice), and Bobby Daniel (Crystle), and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 5 from 6:00-8:00pm at Puckett Funeral Home in Farmville, VA. Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 6 at 2:00pm at Burkeville Baptist Church with interment to follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Burkeville, VA.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Burkeville Volunteer Fire Department or the Burkeville First Responders.
