Nannie "Gin" Virginia Nelson

Nannie Virginia “Gin” Franklin Nelson, 82, of Farmville, Va passed away on Monday, April 01, 2019. Gin was born on November 8, 1936 to Robert and Hallie Franklin of Prospect, Va. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John A Nelson and four brothers, Elton, Curtis, Lawrence and Kenneth Franklin. Gin is survived by her three children, Bobby Nelson of Farmville, Cindy Owen(Wallace) of Crewe, and Lisa Kerns of Farmville. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Clay Owen(Meagan) of Pamplin, Scott Owen of Crewe, Robert Atkinson of Cumberland , Ginny Moyer(Brandon) of Amelia , Laura Nolasco of Cumberland and Jeremy Nelson of Suffolk. She is also survived by six great grandchildren: Emileigh Atkinson, MacKenzie Nolasco, Laiken Owen, Josh Atkinson, Logan Nolasco, and Annabelle Moyer. In addition , Gin is survived by a brother, Clarence Franklin of Prospect, two sister/sisters-in-laws, Linda Franklin and Sue Franklin of Prospect and numerous other beloved nieces and nephews.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department, Prospect United Methodist Church or any charity of your choice.
Graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 2:00PM at Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery, Prospect, VA. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at Puckett Funeral Home.
