Mrs. Naomi Earle Nunnally Jenkins, 88 of Green Bay passed away Monday, June 7, 2010. She was born December 10, 1921 in Green Bay. She was the daughter of the late Earl Clarke and Adeline McFarland Nunnally. She was dearly devoted to her family, the Church, and her community. She graduated from Green Bay High School in 1939 and attended Strayer Business School. She worked for numerous years in administrative roles in government, and as secretary for the Prince Edward School Board. She spent over 50 years devoted to the operation of Cloverdale Dairy, the family farm, in Green Bay. She lived her life with a strong Christian faith and was very active in many church roles throughout her life. She was a long time member of Liberty Christian Church and in later years Bagby Memorial Baptist Church. She maintained active roles in civic, community and Christian organizations, including the Gideons Womens Auxiliary, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Liberty Christian Womens Fellowship and served in many leadership capacities within the Church. She was the widow of Hugh Martin Jenkins and was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Jenkins Jones.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Jenkins Jennings and husband, Ronnie of Green Bay; five grandchildren, Angie Jennings Rainey and husband, Fred of Green Bay, Susie Jones Fox and husband, Patrick of Richmond, Chip Jones and wife, Leigh Ann of Crewe, Laurie Jennings of Vineyard Haven, MA, and David Jennings of Green Bay; her two great grandchildren, Tripp Jones and Ginny Rainey; and a nephew, John William Nunnally and wife, Donna and their children, Nikki and Darienne all of Green Bay, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 10, 2010 11:00AM at the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home with interment in Liberty Christian Church Cemetery in Green Bay. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening 6:00-8:00PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International, the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Virginia or to Bagby Memorial Baptist Church.
