Norma Rickmond, 51 affectionately known as “Norma Jean” was born in Farmville, VA on January 17, 1969 to Nancy Rickmond and the late Norman Rickmond. She attended Cumberland County High School. Norma was a math teacher at Cumberland high school, she loved to help others and she was so down to earth. She always kept a smile on her face and was loving and caring. Norma loved to plant flowers in the spring and sit outside at her fire pit in the winter. She loved her grandchildren more than anything in the world, their nickname for her was “Granty”. She would do anything for them to be happy. Norma was a manager at the Helton House, she loved her clients dearly. She recently got engaged on Christmas to David Lee. She loved him and she talked about how happy he made her and she never loved anyone like she loved him.
She is survived by her mother Nancy Rickmond, step dad Howard from Cumberland, her children Brittany from Petersburg, Jazmin from Rice, grandchildren Journey, Kamille, Karion, Londyn and Autumn, siblings Debra, Brian and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, her brother Norman and nephew Derrick.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 1:00PM in Westview Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at Puckett Funeral Home. Puckett Funeral Home is serving the family. www.puckettfh.com.
