Richard Peter Oren Sr

Richard Peter Oren Sr, age 85, of Farmville, VA passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at home. He was born November 30, 1937 in Fairmont, NJ. He lived in Hunterdon County all of his life until moving to Virginia in 2007.

               He worked for Hunterdon General Contractors before starting his own construction company Richard Oren Construction, which he ran until retiring in 2000. He loved hunting with family and friends and enjoyed several hunting trips to Colorado and Pennsylvania, as well as building and flying radio controlled model airplanes and model train sets. He was a big fan of John Wayne movies and memorabilia. He had a great love for animals, especially his dog Buddy. Although he had many health issues, he kept his great sense of humor through it all. He always kept his doctors, nurses, and anyone around him laughing.

               He is survived by his wife of 63 years Judy Oren, daughter Teresa Oren, son Rich Oren and wife Susan Oren, grandsons Steven Oren, Greg Thornton and wife Nicole, and Richie Oren III, granddaughters Alaura Leone and Jennifer Rowe, great grandson Xavier Rosenberg, great granddaughter Riley Oren and many nieces and nephews.

               Graveside services will be held at Cherryville Mountainview Cemetery in Cherryville, NJ at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 11, 2023 officiated by the Rev. Christopher Small.
