Robert Steve Metcalf

Robert Steve Metcalf, 77, passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.  He was born September 20, 1946 in Farmville to the late William R. Metcalf and Katherine H. Metcalf.  Steve made his living as a detailed carpenter and retired from Kenbridge Construction.  During his retirement, he would spend his days making rounds to the local garage where he would tinker, and Sandy River Dock where he would share fishtales. When he was home you would find him watching westerns with Peeka, his spoiled cat by his side, and planning his garden, in which he took great pride and joy.

He is survived by his sons Robert Shawn Metcalf (Jessica), and Jonathan Brian Metcalf (Carol) and his step-daughters Margaret Dawson (Dan) and Tammy Hines (Donnie); grandchildren Shane, Trevor, and Kirsten Metcalf, Joshua and Benjamin Dawson, and Harley Garrett. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Judy S. Metcalf.

A memorial service will be held on June 14, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to Southside SPCA or Rice Volunteer Fire Department.
