Roger Lee Dowdy Sr

It is with great sadness that the family of Roger Lee Dowdy Sr, 75, announces his passing on July 29, 2020. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Susan M. Dowdy, his children and grandchildren Angie D. Kellett, Avery and Grayson Kellett, Lee Dowdy, Jessica D. Bonner(Peyton), Emma, Ava Bonner, Kimberly A. Paige, Carter Shaulis, Sheena M. Copeland, Amaya Brown, mother Katherleen F. Dowdy, siblings Phillip Wayne Dowdy, Barbara Ann Schmidt (Bobby), Ryland Barry Dowdy (Dana).
He was preceded in death by his father Ryland T. Dowdy and 2 brothers Benny and Billy Dowdy.
Roger was born on February 26, 1945 in Farmville, VA. He grew up with a huge, close-knit family that supported each other every step of the way. He enjoyed listening to Elvis music, working in his yard, being in the mountains, classic cars and most of all spending time with his loved ones. He worked in many different sales distribution areas throughout his life, including Pet Dairy, Flowers Baking Co and Gemini Inc. Roger was quick with a joke, full of wit, and always gave wise advice.

A memorial service will be held on Sat August 1, 2020 at 2:00PM in Pisgah Baptist Church, Rice. Puckett Funeral Home is serving the family. www.puckettfh.com.
