Roy Clifton Jenkins Jr.

Roy Clifton Jenkins Jr. 70 of Burkeville, VA passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014. He was born in Prince Edward County, VA to Roy Clifton Jenkins and Alma Hodnett Jenkins. He attended and graduated from Prince Edward Academy (1962); then attended and graduated from the College of William and Mary (1966) with a degree in Business. After college, he joined his family-owned oil business. In 1982, after his father's death, he owned and operated Roy C. Jenkins, Inc. until his retirement in 2009. He was on the Board of Directors of Citizens Bank and Trust for 32 years. From 2006 until 2009 he was Chairman of the Board of Citizens Bank and Trust. From 2009 until 2013 he was Vice Chairman of the Board of Citizens Bank and Trust. He is survived by his wife of 51 years; Betty Hall Jenkins, a daughter; Holly Jenkins West (John S.) of Farmville, VA, a son; Christopher Clifton Jenkins of Kitty Hawk, NC, 3 grandchildren; Hayley Walker West, Roy Clifton Jenkins III and Caroline Harron Jenkins, his mother, Alma Hodnett Jenkins of Richmond, VA and his sister; Phyllis Jenkins Polhemus of Midlothian, VA. He was preceded in death by his father; Roy Clifton Jenkins. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2014 3:00pm in the chapel of Puckett Funeral Home in Farmville, VA. Memorial contributions may be made to Burkeville Fire Dept or the Nottoway County Rescue Squad.
