Ruth Elizabeth Patteson

Ruth Elizabeth T. Patteson, 99, of Farmville, VA died on June 13, 2018. She was born on June 5, 1919 to the late W.D. and Ruth Ingram Tomlinson.
She moved to Farmville after high school and started working at J.J. Newberry Co and later BB&T Bank. She was married to J.G. Patteson for 40 years and was an active member of the Eastern Star for 75 years. She was a member of the Farmville Baptist Church where she served as a deacon and the director of the social committee for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, 4 brothers; M.T. Tomlinson, Clyde L. Tomlinson, Edward K. Tomlinson, Sam M. Tomlinson, 2 sisters; Myrtle T. Rice and Mildred T. Nease.
She is survived by her sisters; Hazel T. Amos of Corpus Christi TX, Vivian T. Donahue of Madison, MS and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 1:00PM in Farmville Baptist Church with interment to follow in Kenbridge. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Farmville Baptist Church 132 North Main St, Farmville, VA 23901.
