Sandra C. Myers

Sandra C. Myers, 77, of Burkeville, Virginia passed away on January 7, 2021.
Sandra was born in Coeburn, Virginia on January 19, 1943 to the late William and Ruth Ritchie. Sandra was raised in Farmington, West Virginia. While in high school, Sandra met the love of her life, David Myers and married shortly after their high school graduation. They moved to Chicago, Illinois where they lived for seven years before putting roots down in Virginia. Sandra is survived by a loving husband of 59 years, David Myers, three daughters, Kim Baxter (Joe); Donna Morris (Buck); Debbie Bing, a brother William Ritchie (Bert), nine grandchildren David Baxter; Emily Paul (Brian), Erica Dudas; Kristen Estes (Taylor), Sara Morris (Nick), Allen Bing (Makayla), Heather Bing (Jeremy), LoraGrace Bing (Paul), Clayton Bing. She is also survived by three great grandchildren.
In addition to being a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, Sandra was a member of Burkeville Presbyterian Church for almost 50 years. She held several positions at the church she was installed as an Elder in 1981, served as Clerk of the Session for three years, and Treasurer from 1981 until 2006. She worked for Herb Taylor Insurance in Crewe Virginia for a number of years before serving as the Town Clerk/Treasurer for the Town of Burkeville. During her 21-year career with the Town of Burkeville, Sandra became a Certified Municipal Clerk before retiring in June 2008.
A graveside service will be held Friday, January 15, 2021 at 2:00PM in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Burkeville, VA..
