Stephen Robert Dykes

Stephen “Steve” Robert Dykes, 61, died on December 30th, 2023, in his home in Farmville, Virginia.  Born in Jacksonville, FL on July 12, 1962, Stephen attended the University of Alabama, and became an Automation Product Manager (PLC/HMI/Motion) of Electrical Equipment Co. in Lynchburg, VA. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents Robert Dykes of Gordo, AL and Myrtle “Tina” Tampling Dykes of Selma, AL. Steve is survived by his wife, Susan Dykes, and his children Gillian Nicole Dykes, Hannah Dykes Heimberger, and Austin Robert Dykes.

Steve was a loving husband and father.  A connoisseur of smoked meat and music, a continued self-educator, and enthusiastic Alabama fan.  There was almost nothing that Steve couldn’t fix, sometimes over tireless trial and error, especially for his loved ones.  He will be remembered as a tinkerer of electronics, grill master, and passionate creator of stereophonic quality music experiences, with his beloved cat, Sushi, by his side.

A memorial service will be held in celebration of his life and favorite music at Puckett Funeral Home on January 12, 2024 at 4pm. Puckett Funeral Home is serving the family. www.puckettfh.com.
