Smith, Stuart Ray (Ray), 53, of Madisonville, VA., peacefully passed away at home on March 29th, 2020.
Mr. Smith was born in Mecklenburg County, Va. on May 29th, 1966. He was preceded in death by his great-nephew, Lucas Brown of Dallas, Texas. He was a graduate of Dinwiddie County High School.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Gayle Adams Smith. He is also survived by his sons, Randall W. Smith of the home; Tyler Smith and wife, Morgan of Madisonville; Nathan Smith of the home and daughter, Paige Smith of the home and granddaughter, Madison, of Madisonville. His parents, Paul and Virginia Smith, of North Dinwiddie, Brothers, Brian Smith and his wife Sharon, of Appomattox, VA; Carl Smith and his wife, Gail, of Sutherland, VA; Sisters, Penny Brown of Sutherland, Va.; and Vickie Rizzo and her husband, Chris, of North Dinwiddie. Mother-in-law, Louise Adams of Madisonville; sister in law, Carol Williams, of Madisonville. Nephews, Dr. Tim Brown and his wife, Kelly, of Dallas Texas; Andrew Brown of Lynchburg, Va., and Benjamin Smith of Sutherland, Va.; Nieces, Shana Fields and her husband, Brian, of Appomattox, Va., April Sayre and husband, Scott, of Pittsville, Va., Kaitlin Gambrell and fiancé, Martin Madali of North Dinwiddie, Va., Laural Williams of Madisonville, Samantha Smith and Sara Smith of Sutherland, Va. and numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins, great nephews and great nieces from South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia.
Mr. Smith was self employed as a Hoof Trimmer for 16 years and previously was employed at Whippernock Farm in Sutherland, Va. He had always been in the agricultural field and he loved his cows. His business carried him all over, from West Virginia to South Carolina, and he enjoyed every minute of it and made life-long friends from all over.
The family will receive friends at the home, 211 Price Road Pamplin, Va. 23958, Friday, APRIL 3RD, 2020 from 2 to 8 PM. A memorial will be forthcoming.
